Hey traders.

Before we dive in, I’ve gotten a few emails asking if I have a discord. I’ve been testing out building one around the whole “one person trade desk” concept with a bot that gives market context every 30 mins, live news, and more. It’s invite only and planning to keep it free and open to just you on the newsletter for now so we can talk all things trading and AI tools. If you want to join reply and I’ll send you the link.

Now for this weeks video, I took the most popular indicator on TradingView, Smart Money Concepts by LuxAlgo, and ported it to Sierra Chart with Claude Code. Why do this? Data. My TradingView plan loads about 20,000 bars. Sierra Chart has my data back to 2011, so I can test an idea over years instead of weeks.

The port took Claude Code about 12 minutes. I built it, added it to the chart, and it looked right. Same structure, same levels, same sell zone.

The video covers the whole process over six steps from finding the indicator you want to port to the steps Claude Code needs to take to port it to your trading platform.

As promised in the video, here's everything in one file: the port prompt, the compare prompt, the six steps, and the build errors you'll hit (the one that costs the most time: you change a default and nothing happens, so remove the study and add it again):

It runs in plain Claude Code. Read the indicator's license before you port it. Most open-source scripts are non-commercial, and those terms carry over to your port.

The video also covers what to do when there's no source code, and why I leave invite-only and paid scripts alone.

One question, same as the video: what's your process, and what platform do you run your indicators on? Hit reply and tell me.
