Hey traders.
New video is up:
https://youtu.be/i8tH-DIdgLg
It's the whole Sierra Chart setup, from a blank install to your first chart: the package, the data feed, your broker, the instrument, and the chart itself.
The part I'd have wanted explained when I started: your data feed and your broker are two separate choices.
I chart on Denali, which has tick data back to 2011. Rithmic, for example, only gives you a few years. So I use Denali as the data source and still trade through whatever I'm connected to.
As promised in the video, here's the chartbook from the opening shot. It's MES 1-minute with VWAP and its bands, plus the large trade bubbles:
https://github.com/drewautomates/optd-starter/blob/main/sierra/chartbooks/STARTER-DEMO.md
Drop the file in your Sierra Chart Data folder, then File, Open Chartbook. If it opens blank, Edit, Translate Symbols to Current Service. It only uses studies that ship with Sierra Chart.
The bubbles on their own aren't an edge. They show where the big trades hit, which is context next to VWAP.
What should the next chartbook have on it? Hit reply and name the study. I'll build the next one from the replies.
